Cracked Strokes Like Urticaria

The artist uses medical tweezers and surgical instruments to carve delicate traces on rice paper. These marks seem to "grow" out of the blank surface in a manner reminiscent of the texture strokes (cunfa) in classical Chinese landscape painting. From a distance, the paper appears empty and void; up close, these incisions carry a poetic sense of pain.
